DETAILS PROJECT
In the middle of a 25-hectare tree nursery, the Jardin d'Hiverre event centre was built in 2017 in the Bomencentrum in Baarn (NL) with a total area of 1120 m² and space for up to 450 people. The ground floor of the sustainable glass complex is mainly used for meetings and receptions. Amber trees on the south side of the building complex provide sufficient shade on hot summer days. In the basement, large windows provide bright conference rooms. A kitchen, sanitary facilities and an office room are located on the upper floor. The Victorian-style glass roof was mounted on a load-bearing timber and steel structure. Hans Blokzijl, owner and director of Bomencentrum Nederland, opted for green-coloured glass, which, in combination with the chosen wood, creates a particularly warm ambience.
